Molly's Game is available to Stream on Netflix.
Molly's Game is written by my favorite screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, who you may know from movies such as Moneyball, The Social Network, West Wing, A Few Good Men, and The Newsroom.
His style is quick, clever, and sharp dialogue that makes you wish you could speak with such style and grace. Here's a quick clip of that dialogue so you get the idea:
The movie is based on the crazy true story of Molly Bloom, a former professional skier turned underground poker staple who ran some of the world's most exclusive poker games.
The movie is electric in it's storytelling, with Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba giving some of their best performances yet. You'll be glued to the screen as Molly narrates her life throughout her turn as the poker queen who ran the world's most high-stakes and exclusive poker games.
What's crazy is that all the players you meet were probably famous actors, athletes, and CEOs but all of their identities are hidden. One in particular whose name is Player X in the movie, is apparently supposed to represent Leonardo DiCaprio, Toby McGuire, and Ben Affleck. All of whom played in Molly's poker games.
You don't have to know about poker to enjoy this movie, as it makes it incredibly exciting as displayed in this quick clip:
All around, you'll enjoy this film from 2017. It has great writing, great performances, and a crazy true story that'll have you googling every aspect of it to see how much of it is true.
